2nd set of windows in

Filed under: Work, Local Events — admin @ 10:14 pm

Well each nice day I get closer and closer to finishing my projects.  This wall had way more siding then the front of the house.  2.5″ worth, so I made up about 2″ with a 2×4 and 3/4″ plywood on top of the framing.  Cedar shakes should be fun to work with.

Walmart is crazy.

Even in a down economy Walmart seems to be on top of things.  They figured out employees are willing to wrestle for raises, and people will pay to watch them do it.  Someone in the front office was thinking.

Had some nice bucks coming into the apple trees. I saw the wide eight last week but he was 150 yards away. Hopefully the rut starts to heat up so these guys start moving in daylight.

Windows are Fun

Filed under: Work, Local Events — admin @ 7:12 pm

Well the first I have ever put in windows on my own.  Had fun taking the old ones out, realized I needed way more lumber, rough opening was huge.  Everything seems to have gone together.

What to do now?

Filed under: Travel, Local Events — admin @ 7:18 pm

Around the house things are getting done.  A load of firewood in the basement, soon to be 2, floors shaping up nice, just picked up some trim to finish it up.  So what’s next?  I picked up these bad boys, Crestline Select 100, Single Hung, 36″ wide by 48″ tall windows.  I have 5 of them to put in where the 50 year old glass holders are now.  I am replacing some windows in the dining room, and living room.  I am removing about 4′ of window in the dining room so I can expand the kitchen this winter.  Always things to do.
