In order to catch a lot of fish in 2008 I have a list started of equipment I need.
I’m going to try to get out on Keweenaw Bay ice fishing, Jan. Feb. March. I will need 1 predator jigging rod, and 2 tipups, 1 motorized just to see if it will land more then the standard tipup. I will run some jigs or swedish pimples with some cut bait or smelt.
So Ice fishing
1 jiggin rod
1 motorized tipup
1 regular tipup
1 fireline ice fishing line
For the summer I will be looking to get
1 6-7′ heavy action1-5oz lure weight rod/reel for the lakers
1 6-7′ medium/heavy action 1/2-2oz lure weight rod/reel for pike/walleye
1 spool pink 14lb fire line
1 set of 2-3oz white lead head jigs with stinger hooks
That’s the shopping list about 100 bucks in ice fishing gear, plus if I get some time maybe a flasher/sonar unit, and about 150-200 for the summer fishing gear. I’ll probably have to run to Indian Country sports in L’anse since Dunham’s and Walmart only has light weight fishing gear, might be able to grab a tipup but thats it.
