Sage got a bath

Filed under: Product Reviews — admin @ 12:23 am

Today was bath day for sage and I thought it would be a wonderful idea to give everyone the ability to smell a freshly washed dog. I invented smeller-vision a website based scratch and sniff, but since most people have lcd screens I will do the scratching every time you press the button. In order to get the full experience move your nose closer to the screen before you give it a try.

Bad day for anyone who values rear end

Filed under: Cars, Travel, Local Events — admin @ 4:46 am

The lane closures over portgage lift bridge has been causing bad days for drivers.  With lanes closed and traffic barely moving a mix out out of town students and slow moving, driver educationless yocals have lead to an increase of pre snow fender benders.  How don’t you see a full size Aramark truck in a 25mph zone?  How do blinkerless merges speed up the flow of traffic?  Why don’t people take the proper detour?  None of these questions can be answered unless you have observed local drivers habits.  It only takes one day in downtown Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles or Ft. Lauderdale to understand we have a serious problem with local Copper Country drivers.  If the Upper Peninsula was a state we would be ranked 51st in the best traffic skillz category.  The only reason why we don’t have drivers going thru a farmers market and smoking some people is we don’t have any farmers markets…

Fred Bear

Filed under: Work — admin @ 12:58 am

It’s that time of the year again, when Fred Bear with T(a)d Nuggent is played 3 or 4 times a day thanks to the All Season’s Construction Crew. This ones for you.

There I was, back in the wild again
And I felt right at home where I belong
I had that feelin’ comin’ over me again
Just like it happened so many times before

The spirit of the woods is like an old good friend
It makes me feel warm and good inside
I knew his name and it was good to see him again
‘Cuz in the wind he’s still alive

Oh, Fred Bear, walk with me down the trails again
Take me back, back where I belong
Oh, Fred Bear, I’m glad to have you at my side, my friend
And I’ll join you in the big hunt before too long
Before too long

It was kinda dark, another misty dusk
And it came from a tangle down below
I tried to remember everything he taught me so well
I had to decide which way to go

Was I alone or in a hunter’s dream?
‘Cuz the moment of truth was here and now
I felt his touch, I felt his guiding hand
The buck was mine, forevermore

Because of Fred Bear
I’ll walk down these trails again
Take me back where I belong
Oh, Fred Bear, I’m glad to have you at my side my friend
And I’ll join you in the big hunt before too long
We’re not alone when we’re in the great outdoors
We got his spirit, we’ve got his soul
He will guide our steps, he’ll guide our arrows home
The restless spirit forever roams

Fred Bear, walk with me down the trails again
Take me back, back where I belong
Oh, Fred Bear, I’m glad to have you at my side, my friend
And I’ll join you on the big hunt before too long

Oh, Fred Bear, walk with me down the trails again
Take me back, back where I belong
Oh, Fred Bear, I’m glad to have you at my side, my friend
And I’ll join you in the big hunt before too long

In the wind he’s still alive
In the wind he’s still alive
In the wind he’s still alive
In the wind he’s still alive
In the wind, I hear, I hear Fred Bear

(I hear ya Fred,
Talk to me,
yea ,
its all right
lets go hunting baby
Say Fred, you go up on that ridge
And I’ll go down in the swamp
We’ll get that buck)

(Fred)
(If some of our teenage thrill seeker really want to go out and get a thrill.
Let them go up into the north west and let them tangle with a Grizzly bear
or Polar bear or brown bear and get that effect that will cleanse the soul

Fred Bear (March 5, 1902 – April 27, 1988) was an American hunter and bow manufacturer. He was born March 5, 1902, in the town of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. Although he did not start bow hunting until he was 29 and did not master the skill for many years, he is widely regarded as a legend and pioneer in the bow-hunting community. Bear was a world traveler, film producer, and the founder of Bear Archery, an outdoor company that still exists.

Bud “Salmon Slayer” barely gets boat wet in the 07 season, talks of the Rapala sponsorship not being renewed for the 08 season is in the air. Maybe “Salmon Slayer” will make up for it in the 07-08 ice fishing season, but magic eight ball says doubtful.

Johnson + Vegas = ????

Filed under: Travel — admin @ 11:28 pm

Well reports have come in about the elusive Johnson and Johnson duo making a secret trip to Vegas. They ducked most of the paparazzi but one luck TomSaari.com correspondent got the drop on them as they landed in Houghton County Memorial Airport. The jig was up and we finally got the first exclusive interview upon there return. Nothing they said could keep there horribly bad tans at bay. After the bags were unloaded they made a quick get-away spending back to the privacy of there sprawling estate.
